◈ SUMMARY ◈
Members of the Evenfall follow a doctrine around providing protection to those who call for help and to shelter the less fortunate, sick and impoverished.
The Evenfall clergy’s skillset is known to be more geared towards preserving life,
protective spells and warding off terrors of the night with spells and knowledge
to silver items, heal wounds or shield others.
These practices and teachings for countering ‘creatures of the night’ have been in place and refined for as long as there have been threats of vampires, werewolves and other similar entities attacking during the night.
Evenfall leans into imagery and symbolism of the hours of twilight being a transition into darkness and the close relationship of the final hours of light and the long night. The Moon and stars being seen as silvery beacons of protection and guidance through the night.
◈ HISTORY ◈
The Evenfall has its origins in Estin starting as several deities that would often be worshipped by various knights orders, guards and watchers across the mountain peaks and over time and circulation of each mythos, a small pantheon of Vigilant, militant and protective figures of peace formed that knights and defenders throughout Estin could pledge to called the Evenfall.
◈ PANTHEON & DEITIES ◈
Evenfall has a small pantheon of Deities or gods that are known by several names and titles depending on where one is situated, but the mythos and scriptures for each one remains fairly consistent with respective themes and lessons.
These Deities can also be seen as personifications of the aspects of the duty of a Cleric of Twilight, Everbrights and other active roles of the clergy and affiliated orders.
◈ Kosantur - The Vigilant Watcher / The Unsleeping Eyes
An imposing figure usually depicted as a fully cladded knight in shining silver or mythril armour. A symbol of an unmoving unflinching protector.
Kosantur is favoured by guards, bodyguards and the watch for aspects of Protection, Vigilance and watchfulness.
Kosantur encourages lessons to be alert, perceptive and have patience. To achieve an unflinching gaze and look through the darkness. Sharpen your wits and wisdom as much as your blades and know conflict before it arrives. Ever guarding, Ever watch.
◈ Tarrdgesh - The Broken One / The One Who Endures
Sometimes depicted as a mutilated or tortured pale human male. In other instances it is the blooded arm wraps or imagery of an elderly or sickly man. Tarrdgesh is often described struggling but standing despite their injuries.
Tarrdgesh is often worshipped among lower classes, sickly and oppressed who call upon him for aid and to ease suffering.
For the Evenfall, Tarrdgesh represents compassion and the shield that contests suffering at every moment. In these lessons it is encouraged to relieve others of suffering, take on the burden, pain and suffering of others if one must.
Taking on such duties of Evenfall’s clergy means understanding that one will be a pillar of endurance, suffering and perseverance for those who cannot.
As such actual skills taught through the Evenfall clergy that realise this help fortify and strengthen its students to bear the weight and pain.
◈ Rokkr - The Hall and Hearth / Cloak of Night / The Twilight Sanctuary
Rokkr is the formless night, a blanket of stars, a deity that represents the looking after good of community and society, watching over villages and homes. Many pray to Rokkr as the stars come out in the hour of twilight and fireplaces or campfires are lit.
With Rokkr are lessons and understanding of the intention of protecting the commoner, life and peace. To be a hospitable force and where one has a place of respite, a goal to bring true rest. The cloak of night can nurse and heal a weary soul.
Being part of the clergy of Evenfall means being a civil servant in some capacity and blessing ceremonies, marriages and other occasions and events.
◈ Forbian - Mender in silver / The Healer / Shimmer in the Gloam
The healer. A deity of compassion and love. A symbol of a feminine figure in pale robes and shimmering plating with her arms stretched out.
A focus with healing and restoration in mind, body and spirit.
Blessings and lessons of healing not only in practised medicine and magic but also in the mind, being a diplomat and acknowledging and healing links between people and community. Where possible, always be a source of healing and recovery, whichever form that be…
◅◈ WORSHIPPERS ◈▻
The Evenfall clergy comprised clerics, paladins and monks, many affiliated with knightly and monastic orders.
Guards of Evenfall or other knight orders that are affiliated with the faith in wartime would be found on either side of a conflict mostly as defenders, watchers and healers.
In Rukvian-Estin War Evenfall guards and the everwatch, a knightly order division of the clergy, have been called to defend and protect nearest the front-lines.
