◈ WELKLAND ◈

Fishing Village

Known for its vibrant pines, windswept alps, twisting rivers and falls that flow into its many thriving riverside towns.

Proud of their naval force and commerce across the north.

◈ GEOGRAPHY

Welkland has lush temperate lands with picturesque rolling hills with farms and rivers.

It shares the Wikbord Gulf, across from Rukvia and its own archipelago spattered across its Western coasts.

The waters and surrounding islands are Welkland's pride, full of life and vibrancy, a source of healthy economy, food and tales.

◈ BLIGHTED LANDS

How the blight has affected Welkland's iconic waters etc.

◈ GOVERNMENT

The government of Welkland is centralized in Lauring and has delegated administration divisions across the land in the form of counties.
Welkland's government works in tandem with the United Northern Archipelagos ( U.N.A ) which is an international organization that unifies Rukvia, Welkland, Benton and Mirtea.

◈ LIFESTYLES

Welkland has a strong fishing economy and proud naval force that is often on display in Lauring Harbour. Much like it's western counterpart Rukvia, there is also a history of mystical practices and stitcher presence that continues into the 1900s.
Welkland has a long history of naval exploration and brave tales of expeditions to the northern pole, eventually leading to the discovery and attempt to settle in Mirtea.

Welkland has a variety of iconic sea-food dishes both from inland river-fish and the Wikbord Gulf shared with Rukvia.

Travelling up and down the rivers meant easier circulation of resources and commute to the major city in which many country-men and foreigners alike come to celebrate in festivals with ease. It is a common sight to see Welkland's towns congregate to an almost uncomfortable amount during festive or monthly occasions.

◈ CULTURE & BELIEFS

Welkland's main city Lauring Harbour acts like a cross-roads for many people across the archipelagos ultimately leading to a cross of cultures, dishes, stories and beliefs.

Welkland and its ties to the sea and tides have led to many celebrations of the moon's pull of the tide and the stars for navigating the waters.

Its close proximity to Rukvia and Estin has brought even more ideas and celebration of the tide and moon with druidic practices tied to the sea and Evenfall's worship of celestial bodies.

Many Welkland folk are encouraged to learn about fishing or exploring across the sea.

Some pursue careers surrounding the rivers and ocean and most of the population being concentrated around the city means most have the chance to pursue more complex or high-class careers and skills and being able to pursue the passion of the sea in many different ways through the arts, or sailing.
